OIT will enable Jumbo Frames on the College of Computing firewalls.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Thursday, October 1st, from 8pm to midnight.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
OIT will enable Jumbo Frames to reduce CPU utilization, improve storage and backup traffic, and enhance live migration efficiency on the College's virtualization infrastructure.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users may experience brief interruptions to campus and College services for up to 5 minutes while each firewall appliance is rebooted. The firewall pair is designed for failover redundancy.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required. If your desktop or other wired network device does not reconnect automatically, disconnect the Ethernet cable for 10-15 seconds, then reconnect and try again. If issues persist, please reach out to the Help Desk.
