UPDATE: Networking has been restored as of 6:02PM, 6/16/21. Specifics of the issue are listed under 'WHY IS IT HAPPENING?' below.
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Networking, both wired and wireless, is currently down for portions of the 3rd floor of the College of Computing Building (CCB).
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Outage began July 14th at 11:12PM and is ongoing.
WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
TSO is investigating the exact reason for the outage, but believe it was caused by the construction on the 3rd floor.
UPDATE - Unrelated to the building construction, the active uplink ports on the switch that services this part of the building failed. TSO moved the uplink to two unused ports and restored networking. TSO will work with the OIT networking team to open a support ticket with Cisco to investigate the issue.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Anyone attempting to access wired or wireless on the 3rd floor may be impacted.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Users with laptops can move to another floor in the building to get wireless.
WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
