WHAT HAPPENED?
Mail sent to Office 365 addresses from sources outside of Office 365 was bouncing.
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 4:30 AM until 10:00 AM.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
OIT discovered that mail sent from Sympa mailing lists to certain Office 365 addresses were bouncing with a permanently undeliverable error. While troubleshooting, OIT also discovered that mail sent from off-campus to Office 365 addresses was bouncing with the same error. Mail sent from an Office 365 to an Office 365 address was unaffected, as well as mail sent from Office 365 to offsite addresses. The root cause has not yet been communicated. More information can be found at http://status.gatech.edu

HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
