WHAT HAPPENED?
The CoC user management system UDB was unable to process resource permission updates.

 
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
From approximately 9:30 AM on Friday, August 12, until 2:15 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2016.

 
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
The problem was traced to a faulty file in the users directory of the UDB server nevah.cc.gatech.edu which caused UDB to fail when attempting to process resource permission changes.  

 
WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty, staff, and students who were awaiting UDB-managed resource permission updates.
 
 
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.

 
HAS THE ISSUE BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes.  TSO removed the faulty file and all waiting changes were processed by 2:15 PM on August 25.
