WHAT HAPPENED?
Access to the CoC SMTP server was temporarily limited to campus and VPN only.
Affected servers:
sccl.cc.gatech.edu
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Limited access was in effect from Monday, July 22 to Thursday, July 25, 2019.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
The temporary limitation of access was to address a security incident and to make modifications to the server's configuration.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Any faculty, staff, or student that was using the CoC SMTP server.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required, as the SMTP service has been opened back up. We do encourage users to reconfigure their email clients to use Office 365 instead of the CoC SMTP server if that is your current set up.
