WHAT’S HAPPENING?
TSO will be performing network maintenance on the switches located in the Technology Square Research Building.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Friday, August 13th, from 7AM to 4PM
WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Eight networking switches in the Technology Square Research Building - two in TSRB 204A, two in TSRB 232B, two in TSRB 304A, one in TSRB 332B, and one in the basement IDF - are in need of physical upgrades. New supervisor blades will be installed along with new fiber jumpers and new dual uplink 10GB network transceivers.
TSO will begin work on the 2nd floor, then 3rd floor, and then the basement. TSO will also use this opportunity to perform software upgrades on the other closet switches in the building, requiring brief downtime (~5 minutes) when each switch reboots.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Networking in the Technology Square Research Building, both wired and wireless will be affected during these upgrades. Networking in the TSRB data center will not be affected.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
If wired networking does not restore automatically following the maintenance, please disconnect and reconnect the desktop's Ethernet cable, then contact the Help Desk if this does not resolve the issue. If there are concerns about the date of this upgrade, please send an email to helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu.
WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
