Answer

This FAQ applies to users that have been granted access to a FileMaker Pro database.

Connecting from FileMaker Pro on your desktop computer:

  1. From the Start menu select All Programs, then select FileMaker Pro
  2. Select Open an existing file and click OK
  3. Click Remote... then click Add...
  4. In the Host's Internet Address: field, enter ccdb.cc.gatech.edu. For Favorite Host's Name:, enter ccdb, and click Save
  5. In the Hosts window select ccdb (ccdb.cc.gatech.edu) to see the list of databases you have access to. If prompted for Account Name and password, enter your CoC account name (i.e. george) and your Windows password (i.e. the password you use to login to your computer).
  6. Select the database you have access to and click Open



Connecting from FileMaker Pro on a laptop computer:

  1. Connect to CoC VPN (available to CoC faculty and staff only)
    1. From the Start menu select All Programs, Cisco Systems VPN Client, then select VPN Client
    2. Select coc_vpn or your appropriate profile (admin for staff and research for faculty) and click Connect
    3. For Username and Password, enter your CoC account name (i.e. george) and your UNIX password (should be the same as your Windows password)
  2. From the Start menu select All Programs, then select FileMaker Pro
  3. Select Open an existing file and click OK
  4. Click Remote... then click Add...
  5. In the Host's Internet Address: field, enter ccdb.cc.gatech.edu. For Favorite Host's Name:, enter ccdb, and click Save
  6. In the Hosts window select ccdb (ccdb.cc.gatech.edu) to see the list of databases you have access to. When prompted for Account Name and Password, enter cc\\CoC account name (i.e. cc\\george) and your Windows password
  7. Select the database you have access to and click Open
  8. If a dialogue box appears reading “The account and password you entered cannot be used to access this file. Please try again”, click OK and enter cc\\CoC account name and your Windows password again.



Connecting from a Web Browser:

  1. Open your favorite web browser and enter the URL https://ccdb.cc.gatech.edu
  2. If prompted, accept the security certificate and proceed by clicking Yes
  3. For Account Name and Password, enter CoC account name (i.e. george) and your Windows password and click Login
  4. Select the database you have access to
  5. When you are ready to logout, click Log Out
