WHAT'S HAPPENING?
OIT will update the rule-set on the spam appliance for MyGaTech/Zimbra. Part of this change includes spam filtering on outgoing email, blocking messages that receive a score of 90 or above.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Beginning at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
The goals are as follows:

  • Update the configurations to use newer technologies available
  • Spam filter outbound email messages to keep GT off blacklists
  • Reduce the number of spam messages allowed to make it to a user's inbox/junk box.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of MyGaTech/Zimbra.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.
