WHAT’S HAPPENING?
TSO will remotely update TSO-managed Windows devices running Windows 23H2 or older to the latest version of the operating system.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Monday, October 19th.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Windows 23H2 is end-of-life on November 19th, 2026. To maintain Georgia Tech's security posture, TSO will deploy Windows OS updates targeting devices running 23H2 or older.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
All users of TSO-managed Windows devices running Windows 23H2 or older.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
OS updates will download automatically in the background. Once the download is complete, you will receive a prompt from either Windows Update or Software Center indicating that the device must be rebooted for the software to be installed. Users will have up to 20 days to restart their device and complete the installation. To avoid unexpected interruptions, we strongly encourage you to restart your device as soon as practical after receiving a restart notification.
